The KCNS aims to contribute to advancing research, education, academic exchange, and the promotion of friendship among members in pediatric neurology. As of April 2023, there are 269 members, including pediatric neurologists, special members, residents, and nurses, contributing to the Society's development. Half the members belong to university hospitals; the rest comprise general hospitals and private clinics.
- The journal, Annals of Child Neurology
-
The Journal of Korean Child Neurology Association was published as Volume 1, Issue 1, in September 1993. It was the predecessor of the current Annals of Child Neurology (ACN). Starting with the inaugural issue in March 2019, the journal has been published four times yearly (January, April, July, and October). ACN was accepted into SCOPUS in 2020 and continues to develop into a world-class journal.
- Cultivation of pediatric neurology specialists
-
We introduced the pediatric subspecialty fellowship program in March 2001. We graduated as the first pediatric neurologist in Korea in 2007. The program has enabled us to cultivate competent pediatric neurologists and to provide excellent medical services in pediatric neurology. A total of 179 subspecialists have been produced by 2022.
- Publication of textbooks
-
We published the first edition of a pediatric neurology textbook for medical doctors in 2007. We released the revised edition in 2013. The 3rd edition of the textbook, written by 57 members of the Korean Child Neurology Society, was published in 2021.
